Ever since the news of Ford’s re-entry in India circulated on the internet, it created a buzz across social media platforms and the auto industry. Now, the company that was supposed to make an official announcement about the same recently, has postponed it for some time.
The reports suggested that the company might make some official announcement about re-entry into the country somewhere in late summer. Again, this is just a speculation, a concrete confirmation is not known yet.
Spy Shots
If rumours are to be believed, the brand aims to capture the Indian market again and dominate multiple segments with its upcoming product line. Ahead of its re-entry in India, a few models already have been spied on multiple times during the testing phase, giving a clear hint about its arrival soon.
Earlier, the Ford Everest (Endeavour) was spied on during the testing phase, revealing its overall design and some of its importance. Even the pickup truck Ranger has been spied as well, which clearly showcases Ford’s interest in attracting the masses in the country.
Current Facility
Meanwhile, despite stopping all the operations in the Indian market, the comapny still holds its biggest facility in Chennai. However, it has sold its Sanand facility to Tata Motors. It has been informed that the brand is committed to utilising its Chennai facility to serve the international market as of now. Once the operation starts in India, the plant is likely to used to serve the Indian market again.
