Foreign National Arrested For Assaulting CISF Personnel, Creating Ruckus At Bengaluru Airport


A foreign national was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru after allegedly causing a disturbance and attacking Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel during a routine security check.

The accused, identified as Foils Eliott Blair (37), holds passports of Australia and the United Kingdom, as per a report on The Indian Express. He has been charged with assault, criminal intimidation, and disrupting public order under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, 2023.

Details Of Incident

The altercation occurred on Wednesday night between 10 pm and 11 pm at the Terminal 2, which handles international flights. According to CISF Sub-Inspector, Blair became agitated during a baggage inspection and began verbally abusing officials at the departure zone, reported New Indian Express.

Eyewitnesses reported that Blair obstructed CISF personnel from performing their duties and attempted to physically attack both male and female officers, as per the reportd. He also allegedly intimidated passengers waiting in the queue, creating panic at the terminal.

When CISF personnel attempted to restrain him, Blair continued his aggressive behavior, using offensive language and resorting to physical assault.

Legal Action

Following the incident, Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) police registered an FIR, and Blair was taken into custody. Given the serious nature of the charges, which include assaulting a public servant and criminal intimidation, he was denied bail and remains in judicial custody.

Authorities confirmed that Blair was prevented from boarding his scheduled flight and would face legal proceedings as per Indian law.

CISF officials emphasised that any disruption of airport operations or threats to security personnel would be dealt with strictly under the law. Further investigations are underway to determine whether Blair was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
