According to the reports, Phase 2 of Gurgaon’s metro corridor, now officially termed as the “Gurugram Metro” project, has received the green light from the concerned department.

The Millennium City of India, Gurugram, is again in the news. This time, it is all about the major infrastructure expansion. The city is gearing up to have a massive metro network, which will boost the connectivity super soon.
According to the reports, Phase 2 of Gurgaon’s metro corridor, now officially termed as the “Gurugram Metro” project, has received the green light from the concerned department.
Top Connectivity
The public soon will have a seamless connection between the city as the metro will connect populated areas such as sectors 7, 4, 5, 3, Bajghera Road, Ashok Vihar, Palam Vihar, Palam Vihar Extension, Sector 23A and Sector 22, and commercial and industrial areas in Udyog Vihar. It will offer seamless transitions to the public in DLF Cyber City via comfortable access Gurugram metro.
Amid this, the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited, which takes care of the metro project in the state, is gearing up to spread the metro line separately from Bhondsi to Gurgaon railway station. The decision will benefit the public by decongesting the Sohna Road and NH8. It will cross Vatika Chowk, Subhash Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Sohna Chowk, Sector 4-7 Chowk and Railway Road.
Bidding Process
The reports suggested that the metro rail agency has released the invitation for bidding to conduct a geotechnical investigation. It is a decent stretch, covering 16km, starting from Sector 9 to Cyber City. It also includes a spur to the Gurgaon railway station and the proposed metro depot.
According to the GMRL officials, the geotechnical survey will kickstart after finalising the tender. The whole assessment is likely to take around two months to complete.
