The Golden Line Metro extension from Aerocity to Kalindi Kunj will dramatically improve connectivity between Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and the upcoming Noida International Airport.

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has put forward a detailed plan to link the Golden Line with the Magenta Line at the Botanical Garden Metro Station, as per Times Now.

Currently, the Golden Line runs between Aerocity and Tughlakabad. The planned 5 km extension from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj will connect directly with the Magenta Line at Botanical Garden, making travel easier for people in Noida, Greater Noida, and for passengers heading to both airports.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will add two new stations—Sarita Vihar and Madanpur Khadar—along the elevated stretch. The DMRC has requested a funding of Rs 950 crore from the Yamuna Development Authority to support the project.

The project is expected to be completed in three years. While the 72.4 km Namo Bharat Metro route linking Noida International Airport will take six years to complete, the DMRC has asked the government to fast-track the Kalindi Kunj extension to ease commuter congestion.

The Magenta Line, which already connects Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden via Kalindi Kunj, will play a crucial role in integrating the new route. This line, covering 25 stations, is a key commuter route, with 15 underground and 10 elevated stations.

The extension of the Golden Line to Kalindi Kunj will significantly reduce travel time and improve connectivity between IGI Airport and Noida International Airport.
