There is good news for people who commute to Noida’s Sector 142 from Delhi and other parts of Noida via Metro. Soon, they will be able to travel from Botanical Garden to Sector-142 in just a few minutes.

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has announced that it is set to begin construction on the 11.56-km Metro link between the Botanical Garden station of the Delhi Metro and the Sector-142 station on the Aqua Line of the Noida Metro within the next three months. Work will commence as soon as final approval is granted by the central government.

Currently, passengers travelling from Delhi via the Blue Line or Magenta Line must alight at Sector-52 station on the Blue Line and then reach the Aqua Line’s Sector-51 station either on foot or by e-rickshaw before continuing towards various parts of Noida and Greater Noida.

With the expansion of the Aqua Line, a direct Metro link from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden will significantly ease travel.

The Botanical Garden station already serves as an interchange for the Blue and Magenta Lines, enhancing connectivity between Noida and Delhi.

Survey To Be Completed Next Month

NMRC aims to complete the survey next month, paving the way for construction to begin. Alongside a topographic survey, soil testing is also in progress on this route.

Route Details

The new Metro corridor will span 11.56 km and include eight Metro stations. According to reports, the estimated project cost is around Rs 2,254 crore. Once operational, this link will improve connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida, and key transport hubs, including Indira Gandhi International Airport and major railway stations.

Currently, NMRC operates the Aqua Line between Noida and Greater Noida, with services running from Sector-51 to Greater Noida.

NMRC Has Proposed Two Metro projects

:

Botanical Garden to Sector-142 (11.56 km): Prioritised for early construction.

Sector-51 to Knowledge Park-5 (5 km): Connecting Noida to Greater Noida West.

A detailed project report for both has been submitted to the central government for final approval.

Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer Lokesh M stated, “We aim to prioritise work on the 11.56-km Metro link as it will provide direct connectivity to remote areas of Greater Noida and the upcoming Noida Airport. We are completing all necessary formalities to ensure work begins without delay.”
