As per the trailer, the series revolves around a fictional village of Betalgadh and follows the story of Laxmi, a normal housewife whose life takes a dramatic turn into the underworld of drugs and crime. To sustain her family, she is forced to play a risky game, eventually transforming into the queen of an illegal empire. The teaser for Griha Laxmi has piqued the interest of fans. The show promises to make for a thrilling experience and presents an explosive narrative full of suspense.

Speaking about promoting the show while battling cancer, Hina Khan noted, “Griha Laxmi was supposed to release a while back in October last year, but they couldn’t because of my health. Kehta hai na ki upar waala sab kuch plan karke rakhte hain. At this point, people are calling me strong because of the way I’m dealing with my diagnosis and treatment. And in the show, I’m playing a strong woman. Everything came together and got inter-connected.”
The series, Griha Laxmi, will also include Chunky Panday, Rahul Dev and Dibyendu Bhattacharya. Rumaan Kidwai directed the series, which explores themes of perseverance, crime, and the cost of living in an unfair world. Chunky Panday plays Kareem Kazi, Rahul Dev as Tokas, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya as Vikram. Umag Beena Saxena wrote the script, and the series is being produced by Ajaydeep Singh and Kaushik Izardar.
