In August 2023, the route of the Delhi-Gurgaon-SNB Rapid Rail was revised to align with the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway (NH-8), ensuring better connectivity.
Gurgaon is set for a transport upgrade with five key areas – Cyber City, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Kherki Daula, and Pachgaon – being developed into major transit hubs.
These hubs will connect the Delhi-Alwar Rapid Rail corridor to other transport systems like the Gurgaon Metro, Rapid Metro, Dwarka Expressway, Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor (HORC), and the KMP Expressway, as per TOI.
Key Transit Hubs: All You Need To Know
Cyber City:
This underground hub will connect to the proposed Gurgaon Metro line and the existing Rapid Metro. Located in the heart of Gurgaon’s corporate zone, it’s designed for office-goers and offers easy access to Delhi via the yellow line at Sikanderpur. Originally planned for Udyog Vihar, the station was shifted to Cyber City.
Rajiv Chowk:
One of Gurgaon’s busiest intersections will feature a hub connecting the planned metro line between the railway station and Bhondsi, alongside a new bus terminal. This station is expected to ease traffic on NH-8 significantly.
Hero Honda Chowk:
Added to the route due to its strategic location on NH-8, this hub will link with the proposed Gurgaon Metro line, providing better access for commuters.
Kherki Daula:
Near the Dwarka Expressway, this hub will serve as a busy interchange connecting the planned ISBT and metro corridor. It’s expected to benefit residents of Gurgaon’s newer sectors, improving last-mile connectivity.
Pachgaon:
Positioned at a key junction, this hub will integrate the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, KMP Expressway, and the proposed Pachgaon Metro.
The RapidX corridor between Delhi, Gurgaon, and SNB (Shahjahanpur, Neemrana, Behror) will now be developed in a single phase, as decided in a meeting led by Union Housing Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini.
The revised route will feature 22 stations along NH-8, including Cyber City and Signature Towers.
