The television show Jhanak has been captivating audiences with its gripping storyline, intricate relationships, and intriguing plot. Well now, the makers are set to introduce a significant generation leap, bringing an end to a cherished era for its lead actors- Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja. It is expected that the generational leap will occur twice in two months in the storyline, marking a fresh chapter in the storyline. The recent one will be a 5-year leap which will be followed by a dramatic 20-year leap in June 2025.
Following the announcement, the team are looking for new faces for the show. With several iconic TV stars rumoured to be in the running, buzz is building around who will step in as the lead characters. Each name adds fuel to the reports, given their commanding on-screen presence and gripping performances.
According to a report by IWMBuzz.com, popular actor Arijit Taneja is presently in talks to play the lead in Star Plus’ Jhanak. He has joined the race of actors to bag the role and is being touted to be the favourite to bag the lead role.
Sources close to the portal said, “Advanced talks are happening at the moment with Arijit Taneja. Though nothing is confirmed at the moment, Arijit is certainly in talks.”
The portal also reported that Shagun Singh, who was most recently seen in Sajanji Ghar Aye Family Kyu Sharmaye, is also listed to play the new female lead.
Next in the swirling rumours is popular actor Sehban Azim. The actor is a well-known name in the television world, with TV shows like Tujhse Hai Raabta and Bepannaah. Sehban has also been a part of Fuh se Fantasy and the series Dear Ishq.
Zain Imam is also considered for the new male lead. In a conversation with India Forums, the actor confirmed, “Yes, I have been approached for the show, but nothing is confirmed yet.”
Lastly, Pandya Store fame Rohit Chandel has been approached for the main lead’s role. However, an official confirmation from the makers is still awaited.
Premiered on Star Plus in November 2023, Jhanak is reportedly a loose adaptation of Bengali series Jol Nupur that starred on Star Jalsha. It is produced under Magic Moments Motion Pictures and revolves around Jhanak, a young woman. The plot shows how Jhanak is forced into a marriage of convenience to avoid an obsessive stalker after her mother’s death. She marries her cousin Arshi’s fiancé, Aniruddh, whom she develops romantic feelings for while living in the Bose house.
