In line with automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Kia, and Hyundai, Honda Cars India has announced a price rise for its passenger vehicles in the country, which will take effect in April this year.

To partially offset the impact of growing input and operating costs, the Japanese carmaker has announced that it will raise the prices of all of its passenger vehicle models starting next month.

Honda’s most recent price hike is the company’s second such action in 2025. In January of this year, Honda Cars India raised the price of their passenger vehicles by as much as 2 per cent. This time, though, Honda has not revealed the exact amount of the price increase for its vehicles.

As per HT Auto, in response to this decision, Honda Cars India, Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Kunal Behl stated that some price adjustments are now inevitable and will be passed on to customers, even though attempts have been made to absorb the growing input costs. “The price hike will vary by model and variant and will apply to all Honda models, including Amaze, City, City e:HEV, and Elevate,” Behl added.

Honda made its declaration at a time when other significant carmakers in the Indian market have made comparable actions.

Maruti Suzuki announced a price increase of approximately four per cent, marking the third price hike for the brand in 2025. The entire Maruti Suzuki passenger vehicle lineup will be impacted by this price increase, which is scheduled to take effect on April 1 of this year.

In January of this year, Maruti Suzuki announced a four per cent price increase. In February, the company announced a price increase ranging from one to four per cent.

Tata Motors, Hyundai, and Kia are among the companies that have announced price increases of three per cent for their passenger vehicles. These actions will result in a three per cent increase in the price of these three automakers’ passenger vehicles starting in April of this year.

The justifications offered by each of these automakers for their pricing increases are identical. The main reasons for the upward price revision, according to the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), were rising input and operating costs.
