Apple launched its new MacBook Air models in India, powered by the advanced M4 chip. The company released 13-inch and 15-inch models and the new launches became more colourful with a first-time ‘Sky Blue’ colour option available for consumers.
However, the highlight of the event was the price point at which Apple launched its latest offerings. The 13-inch MacBook Air M4 starts from Rs 99,900, while the 15-inch version is priced at Rs 124,900.
This makes the latest version about Rs 15,000 cheaper than its predecessor, the MacBook Air M3 launched last year. The M3 model started at Rs 1,14,900 and Rs 1,34,900 for the 13-inch and 15-inch versions respectively.
Addressing the US market, the iPhone maker said, “It also now starts at just $999 (around Rs 86,800) $100 (roughly Rs 8,700) less than before and $899 (around Rs 78,100) for education, making it an incredible value for students, business professionals, or anyone looking for a phenomenal combination of world-class performance, portability, design, and durability,” reported India Today.

MacBook Air M4 Features
Along with the latest ‘Sky Blue’ colour, the product also comes in midnight, starlight, and silver colours and features a light metallic blue shade that creates a shifting gradient effect when hit by light.
Apple is also providing colour-matched MagSafe charging cables for all the models. The new MacBook Air features a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, designed to automatically adjust the frame to keep users centered during a video call.
This feature is supported by Desk View, in turn, making it more convenient for consumers to display themselves and a view of their workspace during online meetings simultaneously.
The M4 chips feature a 10-core CPU and an 8-core GPU, allowing for faster processing capabilities than the earlier models. Apple has also upgraded the Thunderbolt ports from Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 4, providing better connectivity options, along with support for two external displays while keeping the laptop’s screen active. The new models still feature the MagSafe 3 charging port, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and stereo speakers for better audio output.
