Ram Kapoor, known for his iconic roles in Kasamh Se and Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, left fans astonished with his remarkable weight transformation. In December 2024, the actor shed an impressive 55 kilos, going from 140 kg to 85 kg in just one year. Reflecting on his journey, his wife, actress Gautami Kapoor, recently opened up about Ram’s incredible weight loss and the transformation their family experienced, starting with their daughter Sia.
During the conversation with Hautterfly, Gautami revealed that her daughter lost around 38 kilos. She shared, “We have been in the midst of some crazy controversies this year. But let me tell you—it’s been really, really hard. It’s been a journey not just for Ram, but for all of us as a family. We stopped socialising, stopped going out, and stopped ordering food from outside—something we used to love.”
She further shared that Ram took extreme steps to reclaim his health. From 24-hour fasts to 48-hour fasts, Gautami revealed that Ram did some “crazy” stuff. “But what really pushed him was Sia. She started her weight loss journey before Ram, and I think that motivated him deeply,” she revealed.
Not just them, Gautami also shared that her son dropped ten kilos. “My daughter warned me not to say anything. But they were almost starving themselves—Sia, Ram… they were determined.”
Ram Kapoor has faced criticism in the past for allegedly using the weight-loss medication Ozempic, although he has publicly denied the claims. In January 2025, the actor opened up about his transformation, discussing the challenges and strategies that led to his impressive weight loss. During a podcast with Devna Gandhi, Ram shared that his journey started five years ago, marked by a series of highs and lows. “I lost 30 kilos, gained it back, and repeated the cycle. It taught me what not to do,” he said.
Determined to succeed, he revealed, “I immersed myself in fitness literature, expert podcasts, and research. I realised there are two types of people—those who prioritise health and fitness, and those who don’t. I decided to fully commit to becoming the best version of myself.”
On the professional front, Gautami Kapoor was recently seen in Gyaarah Gyaarah, a thrilling adaptation of the popular Korean drama Signal. The series captivated audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances from Kritika Kamra, Raghav Juyal, Dhairya Karwa, and Aakash Dixit in prominent roles.
