The Creta Electric will compete with the Maruti eVitara and Mahindra BE.06, both of which use born-electric skateboard platforms and larger battery options.
The Creta Electric will be available in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence.
The Hyundai Creta Electric has been officially unveiled ahead of its public debut at the Bharat Mobility Show.
While it shares much of its design with the standard ICE-powered Creta, the electric version brings some exciting new features, especially its impressive ARAI-claimed range of 473km, as per Autocar.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Battery Options & Drive Modes
The Creta Electric will offer two battery options: a 42kWh battery with a range of 390km and a larger 51.4kWh battery offering 473km. While the exact power and torque figures are still under wraps, Hyundai has revealed that the long-range version can accelerate from 0 to 100kph in just 7.9 seconds.
It also comes with three driving modes—Eco, Normal, and Sport—and a drive mode selector mounted on the steering column, similar to the Ioniq 5. Additionally, the Creta Electric features Hyundai’s i-Pedal technology, allowing for single-pedal driving.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Charging
When it comes to charging, the Creta Electric can reach 80 percent charge in just 58 minutes via DC fast charging. For slower AC charging, the 11kW wall box charger will take around 4 hours to charge the vehicle from 10 percent to 100 percent.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Design
In terms of design, the Creta Electric closely mirrors the ICE-powered Creta, with only minor changes. The most noticeable differences are the new front and rear bumpers with pixel-like detailing, a sealed-off front grille, and aero-optimised alloy wheels. The more angular front bumper gives it a resemblance to the N Line variant. A neat new feature includes active aero flaps on the front bumper for better aerodynamics. The charging port is conveniently located at the front of the SUV.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Features
Inside, the Creta Electric boasts a dual 10.25-inch screen setup and a new steering wheel borrowed from the international Kona. The centre console has also been redesigned with a floating design. Features include a panoramic sunroof, vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, 360-degree cameras, an ADAS suite, and Hyundai’s digital key.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Variants & Color Options
The Creta Electric will be available in four trims—Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence—and will offer eight monotone and two dual-tone colour options, including three matte finishes. One of the standout colours is the new ocean blue metallic with a black roof.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Rivals
This electric SUV will compete directly with the Maruti e Vitara and the Mahindra BE 6. However, unlike these two, which are built on dedicated electric platforms, the Creta Electric adapts the ICE-powered Creta platform. Both the e Vitara and BE 6 come with larger battery packs. The Creta Electric will also rival the upcoming Tata Curvv EV.
