There are multiple models in this vertical, which have been witnessing an overwhelming response from the customers. However, two special models deserve special attention: Hyundai Verna and Volkswagen Virtus.

Price Range Comparision

Before talking deep diving into the main elements, it is better to know the price range of both vehicles. Talking about the Hyundai Verna first, it starts at Rs 13.11 lakh, while the top model goes up to Rs 20.68 Lakh. When it comes to Volkswagen Virtus, it costs under the price range between Rs 11.56 lakh to Rs 19.40 lakh (all ex-showroom). The former is slightly more affordable as compared to the latter.

Engine and Power Differences

Under the hood, The Virtus is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 147 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. When it comes to Verna, the model uses a robust 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, generating a maximum power of 157 bhp and 253Nm of peak torque.

Verna shows slightly higher power figures as compared to Virtus. The gearbox remains the same, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Which one is Faster?

Well, they say that the speed depends on the person sitting in the driving seat. It is good to take this as a quote. However, some claims promised by the company can not be ignored.

According to the Hyundai, Verna is capable of doing 0 to 100 kmph sprint in just 8.1 seconds. At the same time, Volkswagen claims that the Virtus can achieve the same speed in approximately 9.27 seconds. Again, the one who is paying extra deserves extra points as well.

Which One Is Smooth and lightweight?

We have been behind the wheel of both vehicles, and it is safe to say that both companies have mastered the art of making smooth cars, keeping all the aerodynamic rules the mind.

The Virtus offers a rooted driving expirence, giving good confidence in sharp cuts and corning. While Hyundai feels good when cruising on the straight highways. The former is slightly heavier in terms of weight as compared to the latter.
