India relied on its own indigenous defence systems and infrastructure during Operation Sindoor, while Pakistan may have leaned on Chinese assistance, said Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, he described a shift in modern warfare towards networked, decentralised, and integrated operations across multiple domains. Emphasising self-reliance and narrative control, General Chauhan also highlighted structural reforms, cyber defence, and the evolving threat from disinformation in an increasingly automated and complex battlefield.
