India Post has commenced the application process for Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster/Dak Sevak positions, with the deadline set for August 5.

The minimum age requirement for these positions is 18, and applicants must be under the age of 40.

India Post is calling for applications to recruit Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) across various offices of the Department of Posts. Announced positions include Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevaks. The recruitment initiative is set to fill a total of 44,228 vacancies. Interested candidates can apply by visiting the official website at https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

Important dates:

The application process is underway, and the deadline to submit the application is August 5, 2024. Students will have the opportunity to edit their applications from August 6 through August 8.

Age limit:

The minimum age requirement for these positions is 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 40 years. Additionally, there is an age relaxation for candidates from the SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PWD, PWD + OBC, and PWD + SC/ST categories.

Salary:

The selected candidates will be paid between Rs 12,000 and Rs 29,380 for the branch postmaster, while the assistant branch postmaster will be paid between Rs 10,000 and Rs 24,470.

Educational Qualification:

It is mandatory for students to pass the Class 10 Secondary School Examination with Mathematics and English from a school education board recognized by the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories in India to be eligible for all accepted categories of GDS.

The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to the 10th Standard from a recognized board. The student can check the official notification for detailed information.

Other Qualification:

  • Knowledge of computer
  • Knowledge of cycling
  • Adequate means of livelihood

Application Fee:

Candidates must pay a fee of Rs 100 for any posts announced within their selected division. However, the fee is waived for all female, SC/ST, PwD, and transwomen candidates.

Interested candidates can apply through the online mode only at the official website of the India Post Office at https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. Applications received from any other mode and communication in this respect shall not be entertained.
