A first-of-its-kind project will see Thane railway station transformed into an 11-storey transportation and entertainment hub. The ambitious development, a joint effort between the Rail Land Development Authority and the Thane Municipal Corporation, promises to boost connectivity and generate significant revenue.
Set for completion by June 30, 2026, the project encompasses a 9,000 square meter area around platform 10A, with an additional 24,280 square meters available for 60-year lease.
The lower two floors will be dedicated to transport infrastructure. This includes parking, railway facilities, and a dedicated bus deck for seamless local transport connections. An elevated 2.24 km road will directly link the station to the Eastern Expressway, further enhancing accessibility.
The remaining floors promise a unique experience, blending retail therapy with entertainment. Shopping malls, restaurants, food courts, and a dedicated gaming zone will cater to diverse tastes. Office spaces, a coaching institute, a hotel, and service apartments complete the integrated offering.
