The issue started around 10 am, with passengers reporting a variety of problems, such as being unable to log in, access accounts, search for train schedules or fares, and complete bookings.
Indian Railways passengers faced major difficulties booking tickets today due to a disruption with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and app.
According to Downdetector, a service that tracks outages, many users had trouble accessing the IRCTC platform. About 50 percent of website users couldn’t get onto the site, while 40 percent of app users faced problems with app functions, and 10 percent couldn’t complete their ticket bookings.
The issues reportedly started around 10 AM, affecting passengers trying to use the IRCTC services. Users encountered problems such as being unable to log in, errors when checking train schedules and fares, and issues when trying to finalise their bookings.
As per Financial Express, IRCTC posted a message on its website, stating: “Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available for the next one hour. Please try later. For cancellation or to file TDR, please call customer care at 14646, 0755-6610661 & 0755-4090600 or email etickets@irctc.co.in.”
Frustrated passengers took to X (formerly Twitter), sharing their complaints and asking for updates on when the IRCTC platform would be back up and running.
