Passenger footfall is set to increase at Jaipur Airport soon with Rajasthan’s pink city poised to gain another terminal dedicated to international flights. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is all set to inaugurate Terminal-1 of Jaipur Airport on October 26. The terminal will be fully operational for international flights from October 27.

For long, the airport authority had been using Terminal-2 for both domestic and international flights, but it will transition to serve only domestic passengers from October 27.

Terminal-1 has undergone a complete revamp with a heritage aesthetic tone and will have an annual capacity of 15 lakh passengers. Approximately 100 security personnel, comprising CISF and airport security, will be deployed for security checks at the terminal. The departure area will feature around 10 immigration counters, while the arrival area will have 14.

All preparations for the operation of Terminal-1 have been finalised, including a successful trial run.

Air connectivity in Rajasthan has significantly improved much to the delight of travellers. With the inauguration of Terminal-1, domestic flights to destinations like Delhi, Mumbai, and Ayodhya will become more accessible. Simultaneously, direct international connections to Abu Dhabi and Kuala Lumpur are expected to attract tourists.

The terminal will also offer amenities such as a medical room, a 24-hour ambulance service, and lounges.

The inaugural flight at Terminal-1 on October 27 will be an Etihad Airways flight from Abu Dhabi, scheduled to land at 2:10AM. Arriving passengers will receive a grand welcome.
