Abhishek Malik recently opened up about his love for Radio and reflected upon his fond memories with the communication gadget.

Abhishek Malik is enjoying fans’ positive response to his character Neel Paranjape in the show Jamai No 1 co-starring Simaran Kaur and Papiya Sengupta. Amid the show’s successful run on Zee TV, the actor recently, during an interview, opened up about his love for Radio and reflected upon his fond memories with the communication gadget.
Speaking to ETimesTV on the occasion of World Radio Day, celebrated on February 13, the actor recalled, “Growing up, the radio was a constant companion in our home, filling the days with music and stories. I remember sitting around with my family, snacks in hand, to listen to song dedications, interviews and fascinating stories.” His remarks emphasised radio’s nostalgic appeal since it has long served as a means of entertainment and family bonding for many homes.
The actor also shared that the radio’s ability to create vivid imagery in the listener’s mind, fostering a unique and personal connection is what makes it such a special event today. “Even today, after a long day of shooting, I find comfort in tuning in while driving home,” he added.
World Radio Day is celebrated on February 13 every year to make people aware of the importance of radio. This day acknowledges the medium’s resilience in connecting communities, encouraging free expression and acting as a lifeline during crises and calamities.
Earlier, talking about his role in Jamai No 1, he told ETimesTV, “This show is quite different from previous ones. In my last show, Kumkum, I portrayed a character with a grey complexion, which was intense and difficult. However, in Jamai No. 1, Neel is the polar opposite—a pleasant, likable, and grounded character. It’s great to play someone so relatable, and I truly feel that the audience will fall in love with him.”
The actor also spoke about his experience of working in the show and added, “The environment on the sets is so positive. Everyone is giving their heart and soul to make this show a success. We’re hopeful that it will resonate with viewers and become a hit on Zee TV, generating high TRPs.”
Apart from this, Abhishek is also known for his performances in shows like Kaisi Yeh Yaariaan, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum.
