Jayesh More, known for his role in several Gujarati films, is essaying the role of Dilip Patel on Pushpa Impossible. The show continues to capture hearts with the inspiring story of Pushpa (Karuna Pandey), a strong and determined lady who meets her difficulties with courage. On World Theatre Day, Jayesh More provided insights on how theatre has influenced his acting career.

Speaking to The Times of India, he stressed the importance of theatre in an actor’s development and how it improves performance on screen. Jayesh stated, “I look at theatre as a sports activity. Doing theatre develops all the skills that are crucial for an actor, like discipline, timing, rhythm, beat and voice control. Because of my theatre background, my work becomes easier.” He added that playing Dilip Patel is a task. His character is full of variety and he sees a new Dilip Patel every day. Theatre allows him to better understand his depth and complexities of the character.

Speaking about the difference between doing a TV show and performing live, Jayesh stated, “Hum ek baar jeete hain, ek baar marte hain… Similarly, a show happens only once, Ad: we get the response only once. On screen, we get a second chance, but in theatre, there is no second chance. And that is the most thrilling of all-an error free show.”

Jayesh also added that every role he has portrayed in theater has inspired him in some manner. He believes that those characters are a part of him and if given the opportunity, he would like to live the lives of all the characters he played on stage. For Jayesh, “Theatre is a live art, and any live art will remain alive as long as we are alive.” However, he is not against this mode of entertainment evolving with time but mentioned that “ its essence will never fade.”

Jayesh More concluded with a special message to all his fans on World Theatre Day as he encouraged everyone to follow their passion with discipline while also taking care of their health.
