The facility expansion will increase JML’s production capacity by 25%, allowing the company to serve its growing customer base more effectively.
In the first phase of the expansion, JML has added over 60,000 square feet to its existing 1 Lakh square feet of manufacturing space.
JCBL Marrel Tippers Limited (JML), a leading manufacturer of specialised trailers, POL tankers, bowsers, and export-oriented containers for the US and European markets, has announced the expansion of its advanced manufacturing facility in Oragadam, Chennai.
This move highlights JML’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for its diverse, high-quality products while reinforcing its dedication to sustainable manufacturing practices.
The facility expansion will increase JML’s production capacity by 25 percent, helping the company serve its expanding customer base. It also marks a strategic diversification in JML’s product range, covering sectors such as Defence, Automotive, Navy, Railways, Construction Equipment, Petroleum Transportation, Mining, Power Transmission, and Heavy Fabrication Components for Earth Moving.
The expansion is expected to significantly grow the customer base and create 200 new local jobs, as well as opportunities for around 40 new suppliers in Tamil Nadu, further boosting the local economy.
Phase one of the expansion, which includes over 60,000 square feet of additional facility space, has already been completed, adding to the existing 100,000 square feet of space. A second phase of expansion, with another 50,000 square feet, is also planned. Looking ahead, JML has reserved around six acres of open land for future projects in FY 2025-26.
Equipped with advanced technology, the expanded facility will feature laser cutting, robotic welding systems, CNC machining, airless painting technology, and heavy-duty EOT cranes. These upgrades will enhance production efficiency and help JML maintain its reputation for high-quality products.
The plant will implement lean manufacturing principles to ensure precision, reduce waste, and maintain consistency in product quality. Sustainability is a key focus, with the facility already powered by a 300KW solar power system, generating 1,350KW of energy daily. Plans are underway to add a 1,200KW solar system, boosting green energy production to 6,750KW per day. Additionally, JML will install a Water from the Air system to produce 1,500 litres of water per day for its own use.
Rishi Aggarwal, Managing Director of JCBL Group, said, “This expansion is about more than scaling up production; it is about creating a greener, more sustainable future for the automotive industry.”
The plant’s green initiatives also include dedicating 30 percent of its area to greenery and implementing an efficient water management system. The Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) generates 6KL of water daily, which is used to maintain the lush green spaces, ensuring sustainability.
