It has been reported that despite witnessing a decrease in demand, the company continued its usual high-volume production, resulting in a large unsold inventory.

The top two-wheeler maker Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen or KTM has been investing efforts to attract the masses by offering the latest products in the market. Amid the new series of production, reports suggested that the comany has a massive stock of 2,65,000 motorcycles lying unsold.

It has been reported that despite witnessing a decrease in demand, the company continued its usual high-volume production, resulting in a large unsold inventory.

Unsold Stock

Some reports suggested that due to the massive unsold stock, the company had to witness a huge storage cost between January 2024 to October 2024, putting them in a big financial crisis. However, the company has not revealed any official statement about the same as yet.

Parent Company

Report says that the current financial situation has forced KTM’s parent company, Pierer Mobility AG to drop its majority stake at MV Agusta.

Sales Report

Meanwhile, KTM has reported great ups and downs in terms of sales throughout 2024. According to the data available on the internet, in July 2024, the company had retailed over 8,200 units, reporting a rise of year-on-year (YoY) growth by 2.58 percent.

200 Series Sales

When it comes to the 200 series, the brand saw a major downfall in demand. It has declined by over 19.52 percent compared to the same period the previous year. Talking about the sales figures for November this year, again, it sold 2,726 units, which decreased by 51 units as compared to the same period last year.
