The most noticeable upgrade inside is a larger 13.1-inch touchscreen, replacing the outgoing 11.4-inch unit.
2025 Land Rover Defender Gets 13.1-Inch Touchscreen, New Off-Road Gear & Design Tweaks.
The Land Rover Defender has received a mild refresh for 2025.
While the changes might be hard to spot at first glance, they add a modern touch without taking away the rugged charm fans love.
Design & Accessories
At the front, the headlamps now feature a sleeker centre LED DRL, and the tail-lamps sport a darker, smoked finish. Fog lamps come as standard across the range. The grille has a shiny new gloss black bar, and the bumpers now come in silver or satin grey for a more refined look.
As per Autocar, the bonnet and fender inserts have a textured finish, while the centre caps on the wheels proudly say ‘Defender’ instead of ‘Land Rover’. Buyers can choose from new 22-inch 7-spoke alloy wheels and additional paint options – including a striking Patagonia White Matte wrap for the V8 and Octa variants.
Furthermore, the Defender now offers a rugged expedition roof rack, crossbars, and underbody protection. The Octa variant can be fitted with a powerful 4,500 kg-rated winch wrapped in carbon fibre. Meanwhile, the Defender 130 adds an integrated air compressor – a handy tool for adjusting tyre pressure while off-roading.
Interior
The biggest change inside the Defender is the new 13.1-inch touchscreen, replacing the older 11.4-inch display. It fills the space between the dash and centre console neatly and adds to the high-tech cabin feel.
There’s also a new driver-facing infrared camera built into the steering column. This system monitors driver attention and sends alerts if it senses fatigue or distraction. It follows the EU’s GSR2 safety rules but can be turned off or adjusted through the infotainment settings.
Another addition is the optional off-road adaptive cruise control – a first for the Defender. This helps maintain a steady speed over rough terrain, reducing the need for constant pedal input.
Engine Specifications
The 2025 Defender still comes in three body styles – 90, 110, and 130 – with no changes to the engine range. In India, the Defender offers five engine options, including:
- 2.0-litre petrol
- 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid
- 3.0-litre diesel
- 5.0-litre V8
- 4.4-litre V8
India Launch Soon?
The updated Defender is already on sale in the UK and is expected to arrive in India shortly. In India, the Defender is priced from Rs 1.05 crore to Rs 2.79 crore (ex-showroom).
