Initially slated for completion in September 2024, the flyover projects faced a three-month delay, with the new expected finish date now pushed to December 2024
In 2025, the people of Lucknow will experience improved traffic flow with the inauguration of two significant flyovers near Munshi Pulia and Khurram Nagar.
The Munshi Pulia flyover has been completed and is open to vehicular traffic. Construction on the Khurram Nagar flyover is ongoing, and its expected completion date is December 2024. Although initially slated for completion in September 2024, the flyover projects experienced a three-month delay, pushing the estimated finish date to December 2024.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh are scheduled to inaugurate the flyovers in 2025.
The construction of the Khurram Nagar flyover has caused significant traffic congestion in the area for the past two years, resulting in commuters experiencing delays of several hours. However, the anticipated completion of the flyover promises to alleviate these issues. The project aims to reduce travel time between Ayodhya and the Sitapur highway to a mere 20 minutes, significantly improving traffic flow and connectivity.
“After the construction of the flyover, we will get relief from traffic jams and pollution,” Sarfaraz Ahmed, a resident of Khurram Nagar said.
Dhruv, another resident of the area, stated, “The construction work of the flyover has adversely affected my business, but after its completion, life will return to normal. All the local residents are delighted about this.”
