Abhinandan Yadav, born in Khojapur village of Ghazipur district, began his education at New Model Children School in Khojapur. After completing his studies up to class 10, he moved to Kota to complete his class 12. In 2018, he gained admission to IIT Guwahati, graduating in 2022. During these years, he also persistently prepared for government exams, passing the SSB written examination 16 times from 2017 to 2024. Despite his repeated successes in the written portion, he faced rejection in the interview process due to medical issues and limited communication skills. However, Abhinandan’s determination never wavered, which eventually led him to success in the UPSC Assistant Commandant exam.
Life after graduation:
After graduating in 2022, Abhinandan secured a position at Cubastion Consulting Pvt Ltd in Gurugram. Coming from a rural educational background, he struggled with English, which had been a recurring barrier in his SSB (Services Selection Board) interviews. Working in a private sector role helped him gradually improve his communication skills. Balancing 12-hour workdays with nighttime study sessions, he not only became self-reliant but also learned to cook for himself — experiences that greatly enhanced his self-confidence.
In an interview, Abhinandan shared that he attended the SSB (Service Selection Board) interview at least 16 times, yet each time, despite passing the written exam, he faced elimination in the interview stage, primarily due to his English-speaking skills. His placement in a private company in Gurgaon played a crucial role in improving his English proficiency, which became instrumental in his success.
Working at Cubastion Consulting proved to be a confidence booster for Abhinandan, who went on to clear the UPSC Assistant Commandant exam in 2024. Before this achievement, he had also worked as an auditor through SSC CGL. Abhinandan’s journey is a testament to relentless perseverance, showing that with hard work and dedication, even the most challenging goals are attainable. His story is an inspiration to all young people aiming to overcome obstacles and reach their dreams.
