To help local residents, especially in medical emergencies, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has arranged two ambulances.

Mumbai’s Elphinstone Bridge, connecting the busy areas of Parel and Prabhadevi, will be officially closed for vehicles starting Friday at 9 PM, as confirmed by the Mumbai Traffic Police.
Earlier this month, a draft notification was released asking for suggestions from the public. According to officials, the final traffic plan includes changes based on feedback from citizens.
Ambulances and Wheelchairs Arranged for Emergencies
To help locals in case of health emergencies, the Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has arranged two ambulances:
- One at Prabhadevi Railway Station West Footbridge
- One at Parel Railway Station East
In addition to the ambulances, wheelchairs will also be available for patients who need extra support while travelling to hospitals, as per Mid-day.
Alternate Routes for East to West Traffic
If you’re travelling from East Mumbai to West, here’s what you need to know:
- Dadar East to Dadar West / Dadar Market: Take Tilak Bridge
- Parel East to Prabhadevi / Lower Parel: Use Currey Road Bridge (between 7 AM – 3 PM)
- Parel or Byculla East to Worli / Coastal Road / Sea Link: Go via Chinchpokli Bridge.
Alternate Routes for West to East Traffic
Heading from West to East Mumbai? Follow these updated routes:
- Dadar West to Dadar East: Use Tilak Bridge
- Prabhadevi or Lower Parel to Parel / TATA Hospital / KEM Hospital: Use Currey Road Bridge (between 3 PM – 11 PM)
- Worli, Sea Link, Prabhadevi to Parel / Byculla East: Opt for Chinchpokli Bridge.
