The updated Joy-Cons maintain a sleek black design with subtle blue and orange accents beneath the left and right thumbsticks, respectively. The button layout closely resembles that of the original model, with the exception of a newly added button situated near the home button.
The leaked images also highlight colour accents on the parts of the Joy-Cons that connect to the display—these accents are concealed when the controllers are attached, aligning with an earlier prediction by a Reddit tipster. At the bottom of the device, the docking mechanism is visible, while the left side houses the slot for game cartridges.
According to the renders, the Nintendo Switch 2 might feature some design tweaks. The USB Type-C port is now positioned at the top of the console, alongside a 3.5mm headphone jack. The report also hints at potential improvements to the kickstand, which is used to prop up the handheld in tabletop mode.
The upcoming Switch 2 is rumoured to sport a larger 8.4-inch display, a noticeable upgrade from the original model’s 6.2-inch LCD screen and the 7-inch OLED display on the Switch OLED. As per the tipster, the device will have dimensions of 271×116.4×31.4mm, making it slightly larger than its predecessor.
