Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing, has officially announced that the company’s next flagship device, the Nothing Phone 3, is set to debut in the first quarter of 2025. This information came to light through popular tipster Evan Blass, who shared an email from Pei on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The email reportedly highlighted that 2025 is poised to be a milestone year for Nothing, with the launch of its new smartphone marking the brand’s entry into AI-powered technology.
Breaking away from the usual annual update cycle of most smartphone manufacturers, the two-year gap between the Nothing Phone 2 and the upcoming Phone 3 hints at significant advancements, particularly in AI integration. Since the launch of the Phone 2 in July 2023, the brand has been relatively low-key, but Pei’s announcement has reignited anticipation and enthusiasm among fans.

Leaked information and a teaser video shared by Carl Pei suggest that the Nothing Phone 3 will serve as a central hub for a personalised, AI-powered user experience. The device is expected to feature deep integration of artificial intelligence within its operating system, Nothing OS, potentially redefining how users interact with home screens and manage everyday tasks. A notable addition could be an Action Button, akin to the one seen on iPhones, which would allow users to customise shortcuts for a more tailored experience. Reports also indicate the phone will come with a 6.5-inch display.
In terms of pricing, the Nothing Phone 3 is anticipated to fall within the range established by its predecessors, with the Phone 1 and Phone 2 priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 44,999, respectively. However, rumours suggest it might lean toward affordability if it incorporates an upper mid-range chipset like the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or MediaTek Dimensity 9200+. This could position it as a more budget-friendly option in the market.
When the Nothing Phone 2 launched, its pricing sparked mixed reactions. The criticism wasn’t about its hardware, which matched the quality and performance of its competitors, but rather about the brand perception. Nothing, being a relatively new player in the smartphone market with only one prior device, saw a Rs 12,000 price jump between the Phone 1 and Phone 2. This sharp increase left some consumers questioning whether the added cost was warranted. While the Phone 2 did bring upgraded premium features and specifications, many felt the price hike was at odds with the brand’s still-developing reputation.
For the upcoming Nothing Phone 3, the focus reportedly leans toward accessibility. However, a Pro variant featuring enhanced specifications, such as a larger 6.7-inch display, is also rumored to be in development, catering to high-end buyers. That said, details on this Pro model remain limited, and it’s wise to approach these rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism.
