Ola Electric has officially launched its first electric motorbike, the Roadster X, with prices starting at Rs 74,999 (ex-showroom). The price goes as high as Rs 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top variant.
This comes just days after the brand introduced the new-gen S1 series of electric scooters. The deliveries of the Roadster X are set to begin by mid-March. Production started last month at Ola’s Futurefactory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. The Roadster X comes in two versions: X and X+
Ola Roadster X: Design & Color Options
The Ola Roadster X follows the same futuristic styling as the company’s electric scooters. It features a sharp, minimalist body with a sleek rectangular LED headlamp cluster with an integrated DRL, a flat single-piece seat, and a pillion grab rail. The battery pack sits below a faux fuel tank, which also provides a small storage compartment.
It is offered in five colours options namely Ceramic White, Pine Green, Industrial Silver, Stellar Blue, and Anthracite.
Ola Roadster X: Battery & Charging Options
The Roadster X comes with three battery choices: 2.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 4.5 kWh. All versions are powered by a 7 kW electric motor that generates 9.4 bhp power, allowing a top speed of 118 kmph and 0-40 kmph acceleration in 3.1 seconds. The top-spec 4.5 kWh variant offers a range of 252 km per charge.
The Roadster X+ offers two battery options: 4.5 kWh and 9.1 kWh. It packs a more powerful 11 kW motor that delivers 14.75 bhp power, hitting a top speed of 125 kmph and 0-40 kmph in just 2.7 seconds. The 4.5 kWh version delivers a 252 km range, while the 9.1 kWh battery (with 4680 Bharat Cell) boasts a massive 501 km range per charge.
Ola Roadster X: Features
The Roadster X features a 4.3-inch LCD digital instrument cluster along with full LED lighting for the headlamp, taillight, and indicators. It comes packed with advanced technology, including cruise control, turn-by-turn navigation via Ola Maps, reverse mode, over-the-air (OTA) updates, a digital key, and a DIY mode.
For safety, the bike is equipped with tyre pressure monitoring, geo and time fencing, tow and theft alerts, emergency SOS, and a vehicle locator. Built on a double-down tube chassis, the Roadster X rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
It features conventional telescopic front forks and a double coil rear suspension, ensuring a smooth ride. Braking duties are handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum brake, providing effective stopping power.
