Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kargil tomorrow on Friday (26th July) on the occasion of 25th Kargil Day. After reaching the Kargil War Memorial, he will also pay tribute to the martyrs. After this, Shinkun will also inaugurate the La Tunnel Project. This information was given by issuing a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. A complete plan has been prepared as per the protocol regarding PM Modi’s Kargil visit. PM Modi will reach Kargil Memorial at 9:20 am. After that the project will be virtually inaugurated. The Shinkun La Tunnel Project consists of a 4.1 km long twin tube tunnel, which will be constructed at an altitude of approximately 15,800 feet on Nimu. Padum-Darcha road will provide all-weather connectivity to Leh. Upon completion of construction, it will be included in the world’s tallest tunnel. This will not only ensure fast and efficient movement of armed forces and equipment but will also promote economic and social development in Ladakh.
