To tackle heavy traffic outside Pune Airport, a new rule has been enforced—private four-wheelers stopping for over 15 minutes in front of the terminal will be fined Rs 500.
The move is aimed at easing congestion and improving the experience for passengers and drivers alike.
The proposal, initially sent to the Delhi headquarters, has now been approved and put into action. A dedicated enforcement team will keep an eye on vehicles at the terminal and fine those violating the time limit.
According to Hindustan Times, Pune Airport Director, Santosh Dhoke, said the decision was made to solve a growing problem.
“Traffic in front of the terminal has become unmanageable. Drivers often leave their cars parked for hours, blocking other vehicles. The ₹500 fine is meant to reduce crowding and ensure smoother movement,” Dhoke explained.
A special squad will be deployed to strictly monitor and penalise offenders, ensuring the rule is followed without fail.
