Rajiv Adatia is currently winning hearts with his culinary talent in the cooking-based reality show Celebrity MasterChef. He is among the top contenders fighting for the winner’s trophy. The recent episode was high on emotion and drama as the former model opened up about his father’s demise in front of the Chefs Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and host Farah Khan, leaving him breaking down into tears.
During the episode, Rajiv was reunited with his mother, who came from London after almost two months. The touching moment between the mother and son set the tone for a deeply moving conversation.
Recalling her husband’s passing away, Rajiv’s mother stated, “When his father passed away, I had to work full-time. At home, we only had work. He would cook for everyone. Rajiv would cook for everyone. He would reassure me not to worry. He started cooking after seeing me. “He would feed everyone.”
Listening about his father, Rajiv broke down into tears as he remembered the moment he received the devastating news. He said, “I wasn’t at home when he died. I was shooting in Dubai. My mother called and said he was sick. She was crying a lot. He had passed away by the time I arrived home. I have this fear… if something happens and I am not home.” His words deeply touched the hearts of the judges and his co-contestants.
However, to make the environment light, Farah complained to his mother about Rajiv’s messy counter and stated, “Ghar par aap ise kuch nahi kehti thi?” Adding to this, Ranveer stated, “He should get a golden medal for the messiest kitchen.” Replying to them, Rajiv’s mother said, “You won’t believe, he scolds me for my messy kitchen counter.” The former model admitted, “I have OCD, I want everything clean.”
Recently, veteran actress Usha Nadkarni was eliminated from Celebrity MasterChef. The remaining contestants on the show include Rajiv, Nikki Tamboli, Archana Gautam, Tejasswi Prakash, Faisal Shaikh and Gaurav Khanna.
Celebrity MasterChef premieres on Sony TV from Monday to Friday at 8 pm.
Rajiv gained recognition after he appeared on Salman Khan’s controversial reality show Bigg Boss 15 as a wild card contestant.
