Ramadan began on Sunday, March 2, in India. During this holy month, Muslims around the world engage in spiritual practices such as fasting and praying for 30 consecutive days. As people across the country embrace this sacred time, many celebrities also observe Ramadan with devotion, sharing their personal experiences with their fans.
Devoleena Bhattacharjee, in a conversation with ETimesTV, shared how she supports her husband, Shanawaz Shaikh, during Ramadan. She ensures that he stays nourished and comfortable as he observes the month-long fast.
The Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress stated, “Ramadan is a beautiful and spiritually uplifting time. My husband fasts from sunrise to sunset, and we all come together to pray. He has two important meals—Sehri and Iftar—so I take it upon myself to ensure that he eats a balanced and healthy diet. Cooking his favourite cuisine for Iftari is something I really cherish.”
She also highlighted the importance of respecting each other’s traditions. “Understanding and respecting your culture is important. I make sure Shanawaz is comfortable, relaxed and not disturbed. We both embrace the spiritual awakening together,” Devoleena added.
Furthermore, talking about the holy festival, she stated, “Ramadan is more than just fasting; it’s also about giving and strengthening our religion. One of the most beautiful qualities of this month is the lesson of compassion for others. Fasting teaches us empathy for individuals who struggle to buy their regular meals. If God gives us abundance, we must share it with those in need and encourage them to live better lives.”
Devoleena and Shanawaz got married on December 14, 2022. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Joy, in December last year. Speaking about her son’s first Ramadan, the actress added, “This Ramadan is even more special as it is our son Joy’s first. We are overwhelmed with gratitude and take this opportunity to thank God for his blessings.”
“May Allah’s divine blessings give hope, faith, and joy to everyone during this holy month. I wish everyone a Ramadan full of forgiveness, appreciation, and endless blessings. Ramadan Kareem!” she concluded.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Devoleena was last seen in the mythological show Chhati Maiyya Ki Bitiya. She made an exit from the show due to her pregnancy. She has not announced her next project yet.
