Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the much-anticipated Classic 650 on 27th March, as per Autocar.

This new model combines the timeless appeal of the Classic 350 with the power of Royal Enfield’s well-loved parallel-twin engine.

Engine Specification

The Classic 650 will be powered by a 648cc, air/oil-cooled, parallel-twin engine, producing 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is already a proven performer, currently used in the Super Meteor 650, Bear 650, Interceptor 650, and Continental GT.

Chassis & Suspension

The Classic 650 shares its main frame, swingarm, brakes, and twin shock absorbers with the Shotgun 650, offering the same suspension travel – 120mm at the front and 90mm at the rear. It also has identical internal gear ratios and final drive gearing as the Shotgun. At 243kg, the Classic 650 will be Royal Enfield’s heaviest bike, outweighing the Super Meteor by 2kg and the Shotgun by 1kg.

Retro Wheels and Special Tyres

One key difference is the 19-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels, giving it a classic look. In contrast, the Shotgun 650 features an 18/17-inch alloy wheel setup. The Classic 650 will also come with specially developed MRF Nylohigh tyres for enhanced grip and durability.

Colour Options & Expected Price

The Classic 650 will be available in four colours – Red, Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. Pricing is expected to be similar to its siblings, with the Super Meteor 650 starting at Rs 3.64 lakh and the Shotgun 650 at Rs 3.59 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom).
