Samsung’s Tri-Fold Phone’s Name Has Been Leaked Online? Here’s When It Might Launch

Huawei made waves in the smartphone industry last year by introducing the Mate XT Ultimate Design, the world’s first triple-screen foldable phone. In response, Samsung appears ready to challenge its rival with its own tri-fold device. The South Korean tech giant provided a glimpse of this multi-folding smartphone during its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, and now, fresh leaks have surfaced, hinting at the potential name and specifications of the upcoming handset.

Reports suggest that Samsung’s tri-fold phone could feature a 10-inch display, making it one of the largest foldable screens on the market.

What Do We Know?

According to well-known tipster Yeux1122, who shared insights on the South Korean blog Naver, Samsung may name the device the “Galaxy G Fold,” aligning with its existing Z Fold series. The leak, which cites industry sources and display analyst Ross Young, also claims that the handset could launch in January next year, reported Gadgets 360.

As per rumours, the Galaxy G Fold is expected to sport a 9.96-inch screen, surpassing the 7.6-inch display on the Galaxy Z Fold 6. When folded, the phone is said to shrink to 6.54 inches, making it more compact. Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design, which employs a different folding mechanism, Samsung’s tri-fold device is rumoured to feature an inward-folding display that folds from both sides, offering a unique take on multi-folding technology, Gadgets360 reported.

According to the blog post, the Galaxy G Fold is expected to have a similar weight to “H,” which is speculated to be a reference to Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate Design. However, Samsung’s tri-foldable device is rumoured to be slightly thicker than its competitor. Reports also suggest that the phone will incorporate newly developed displays and protective films for enhanced durability.

During the Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, Jay Kim, Head of Products and Experiences Office at Samsung, provided a brief preview of the long-rumored tri-folding smartphone. Industry insiders suggest that Samsung plans to produce around 300,000 units or fewer of this triple-folding device, and it is expected to carry a premium price tag.
