Sony SAB’s upcoming romantic family drama Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil brings back Shabir Ahluwalia to the TV screens. The daily soap will see Shabir in a different avatar as Yug, an emotionally guarded lawyer dealing with the chaos of love and family. For his role in the show, the actor underwent a remarkable physical transformation, shedding 14 kilos over three months. In a recent chat, Shabir opened up on the routine and diets he followed for his weight loss journey.

In a chat with Filmibeat, Shabir Ahluwalia admitted to opting for a smart, balanced approach, rooted in consistency, for his transformation. He said, “I simply reduced my food intake and made my workout something I looked forward to. I included football, cricket, tennis – the things I genuinely enjoy – along with some weight training and yoga. The idea was to stay active and have fun while doing it. Over the course of three months, I ended up losing about 13 to 14 kilos – but it was really about becoming the Yug I had imagined.”

The actor revealed during the same chat that he also worked on fixing his sleep schedule. Shabir adopted a holistic approach to transform himself for his latest show. He continued, “I had a clear vision of how I wanted Yug to look and feel.”

“I wanted that restraint and internal discipline to come through in his physicality too. This transformation wasn’t just about looking different. It was about embodying Yug’s mindset and presence in every frame,” added Shabir.

Reportedly, Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil is billed as the first AI-driven fiction television series in the one-of-a-kind experiment for the small screen. In the show, Shabir will be sharing screen space with Ashi Singh. Its plot revolves around two families, also featuring a confrontation between Yug Sinha and Kairi Sharma, played by the lead pair.

It is produced by Full House Media and directed by Sonali Jaffar and Amir Jaffar. While the show will air on Sony SAB, its premiere date is yet to be confirmed by the makers.
