Shakti Anand and Shraddha Arya will be seen reprising their beloved characters as Karan and Preeta in Kumkum Bhagya.

In a treat for all ‘Bhagya’ fans, TV’s beloved on-screen couple, Karan and Preeta, are ready for a reunion, months after Kundali Bhagya’s official conclusion in December 2024. While Shraddha Arya has been confirmed to be returning as the popular Preeta Arora, reports now suggest that her Kundali Bhagya co-star Shakti Anand will now join her for the comeback. The two are set to reprise their characters on Kumkum Bhagya.
A source close to the development shared the news, confirming that Shraddha Arya’s Preeta Arora and Shakti Anand’s Karan Luthra will be returning to the small screen through Kumkum Bhagya. “Both the actors have been briefed about their respective storylines, and they are quite excited about what lies ahead for their characters. The two are scheduled to begin shooting for the show sometime next week, with their on-screen entries expected to air a week later,” the source told the Times of India.
Further details about their part in the show are yet to be known. Meanwhile, Shakti Anand seems to have confirmed the news himself, sharing updates on his Instagram handle. Taking to the stories, the actor shared a news article with the caption, “See you soon!”
Earlier, in an interview with Times Now, Shraddha Arya spoke about her return as the beloved Preeta, stating that she missed being a part of the show. “All I can say right now is soon; soon enough for fans to not miss any episode of Kumkum Bhagya hereon,” she shared. In December last year, Kundali Bhagya concluded its successful seven-year run. In an emotional post, Shraddha Arya penned down her thoughts after ending her journey with the show. “This show saw me Grow.. grow from a silly-goofy young girl to a married responsible (now) mother-to-be (who’s still quite silly & goofy, but that’s besides the point). So you can imagine how close this journey has been to my heart. 7 AND A HALF YEARS of being PREETA were nothing short of a real life fairy tale with Fancy Clothes, Fame, popularity, wonderful work team & co actors, travel, glamour, challenging scenes, Dance, Drama, and everything that an Artist’s Perfect life is build of,” a part of her post read.
While Shraddha had been an integral part of the show since its beginning, the original cast included actors like Dheeraj Dhoopar and Manit Joura. Shraddha and Dheeraj received immense love from audiences as the ‘OG’ Preeta and Karan. Following the latter’s exit, his character was taken over by actors Shakti Arora and then Shakti Anand.
