The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the final vacancy details for this recruitment campaign. Through this, 18,174 posts will be filled by the commission. Initially, the SSC announced 17,727 positions across Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ categories in the organisation.

According to the notification, there are 1433 vacancies for Assistant/Assistant Section Officer in Department of Personnel and Training (ASO in CSS), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. While there are 73 vacancies for Assistant/Assistant Section Officer in Intelligence Bureau.

SSC Tier 2 Option-cum-Preference Form

SSC has also opened the window to fill the Option-cum-Preference Form for posts and departments for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2024 exam. Candidates appearing for the SSC Tier 2 exam can fill out the preference form on the official website, ssc.gov.in.

The last date to apply is February 27 till 5 pm. For this, candidates will have to log in by going to the candidate login tab. After this, they will have to go to “My Application” and select their preferred posts and departments.

The notification of SSC CGL 2024 was released on June 24, 2024. The CGL Tier-1 exam was conducted in CBT mode. The result of which was released on December 5, 2024, so that the candidates could be shortlisted for CGL Tier-2. The Tier-2 exam was held from January 18 to 20 and 31. Before the final result, candidates are required to fill out the preference form for the post/department.

“Candidates who fail to exercise their Option-cum-Preference during the aforesaid period, shall NOT be given any further opportunity for submission of their Option-cum- Preference and such candidates will not be considered for inclusion in the final merit list/ final selection,” the commission has said.

The SSC CGL exam is a multi-stage assessment for recruitment, demanding a high level of competition from candidates. The exam unfolds through Tier-I, Tier-II, Tier-III, and Tier-IV, each focusing on distinct skills. These range from reasoning and quantitative aptitude to evaluating writing abilities and technical proficiency.
