North India Weather Forecast: The weather in North India has been fluctuating over the past couple of weeks and the effect is being seen in multiple states. While snowfall continued in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, the heat is likely to increase in South and West India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for rain and snowfall in many areas.
Meanwhile, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from March 2.
Weather In Delhi
Delhi and surrounding areas may experience light to moderate rain on Friday, February 28. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert. Delhi’s maximum temperature reached 32 degrees Celsius earlier this month, which is the same as last year. The minimum temperature in the capital is expected to be around 17 degrees Celsius on Friday.

Rising Pollution In Delhi
The level of pollution in Delhi is a matter of concern. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded in the ‘poor’ category at 247 on Thursday. The IMD has forecast rain with thunderstorms in the next two days, which may provide some relief from the pollution levels.
Rain Alert In Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has issued a rain alert for Lucknow, Kanpur, and Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in eastern Uttar Pradesh on Friday, February 28 and March 1, while fog will prevail in western Uttar Pradesh. Light rain and cold weather are likely to continue in the next week.
Weather Change In Rajasthan And Uttarakhand
Light rain and thunderstorms are expected in some parts of Rajasthan due to the effect of the Western Disturbance. Meanwhile, the spell of snowfall and rain continues in Uttarakhand. The snowfall in high-altitude areas like Kedarnath, Tungnath, and Chopta has increased the cold. The number of tourists has also increased in the hill state.

What Will The Weather Be Like In Bihar?
Bihar, too, is likely to experience fluctuations in temperature, especially due to the effect of the ongoing Western Disturbance. Light rain is expected in the state. This may cause a slight drop in temperature. The sky may remain partly cloudy for the next two days. However, after the brief spell of light rain, the heat is expected to rapidly increase in the first week of March.
Daily Life Hit By Snowfall In Kashmir And Himachal Pradesh
Daily life in Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh has been impacted by the continuous snowfall. Rain and snowfall continue in different areas of Kashmir, due to which a further drop in temperature has been recorded. Roads have been closed and schools have been shut due to the heavy snowfall in high altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh. The IMD has issued an orange alert for the next 40 hours.
