Ever since the Tata Punch arrived in the Indian market, the model has dominated the segment pretty well. From receiving an overwhelming response to achieving impressive sales figures, it checked all the boxes. Now, the company has silently minimized the overall offering and discontinued some of the trims, including mid-spec Adventure and Adventure Rhythm.
The company has even removed the above-mentioned variants from it is official webisite. It is no longer available in both CNG and petrol versions. Now, the customers are left with only 8 variants, including the newly released Camo edition.
Current Price Range
Currently, Tata Punch comes at the starting price of Rs 6.13 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top variant Creative + S Petrol MT trim goes up to Rs 9.45 lakh (all ex-showroom).
It has been reported that Tata is gearing up to add a facelift version of the micro-SUV. It is expected to arrive in the Indian market by next year. However, the comapny is yet to share the exact launch-related details.
Expected Changes
The upcoming model is likely to get some noticeable updates from the outside. The interior might receive slight changes with a repositioning of a few elements. The leaks suggested that the car might get redesigned alloy wheels, and an updated headlight setup, paired with sleek DRLs. The overall structure will remain the same as the outgoing version.
Powertrain Options
The Tata Punch uses a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as of now. It generates a maximum power of 87 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque. The unit is mated with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission.
This powertrain has been offered in petrol and company-fitted CNG kit that churns less power figures compared to the pure ICE model.
