Mandar Chandwadkar continues to delight the audiences with his performance as ‘Ekameva Secretary’ Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide in the popular comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The actor also shares his insights from his personal and professional lives on social media. Recently, he took a break from his work commitments and visited Mumbai’s new nature trail skywalk.
Taking to Instagram, Mandar dropped a video wherein he could be seen spreading important information about the elevated walkway- the registration process, things to see nearby and other details. Sharing the video, he wrote in the caption, “New place in Mumbai, nature trail sky walk, its in Malabar hill area. Do Visit. Ticket advance me book karni padti he..nature trail.msgm.gov.in.”
As soon as the actor dropped the clip, fans and admirers were quick to share their reactions and hilarious queries for the actor. An Instagram user asked, “Sakharam (Bhide’s scooter from TMKOC) leke jaa sakte hain kya?” Another one commented, “Society ke budget se bahar hai.” One of them wrote, “Bhide Bhai Aapke Zamane Me Aisa Kuch Tha Kya?”
Talking about his slang ‘Ekameva Secretary’, the actor earlier shared that it was actually impromptu. He said, “When I was called for the audition for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, I was told that this man is the society’s secretary, is highly disciplined, and is proud of his profession. Not many people know that ‘Main Aatmaram Tukaram Bhide, Gokuldhaam ka ekameva secretary’ was an improvised dialogue that I did at the audition and the makers enjoyed it so much that it became my takia kalam,” as quoted by ETimesTV.
Sonalika Joshi, known for playing Madhavi Bhabhi, wife of Aatmaram Bhide, recently, during an interview shared that earlier Marathi actor Shailesh Datar was supposed to play the role but declined it due to other work commitments.
Speaking to Rajshri Marathi, she said, “Sailesh had gone to audition, but he was also in talks for another show, and Taarak Mehta’s team wasn’t allowing an adjustment for him to do two shows, so he decided to drop the offer for Bhide’s character and choose another show.”
Coming back to Mandar, he has been a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since its inception in 2008.
