In response to candidate requests to postpone the Group-II services exam, the TSPSC has agreed to reschedule the recruitment test from August to December
The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has postponed the TSPSC, commonly known as the TGPSC Group II Exams 2024. According to media reports, the exam has been delayed due to widespread dissatisfaction among candidates over unemployment concerns.
“It is hereby informed that the Commission having deliberated on the proximity of examination dates between various recruitments and has decided to reschedule the Group-II Services Recruitment Examinations scheduled on 07th & 08th August, 2024 to December, 2024,” reads an official notice. The dates for the Group II exam in December 2024 will be published later, the notice adds.
The original exam schedule stated, the TGPSC Group II Exams 2024 was to be conducted on August 7 and 8. Through this recruitment exam, a total of 783 vacancies will be filled in the organisation. The online registration commenced on January 18, 2023, and ended on February 16, 2023.
Accoring to The Hindu, the Telangana Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Chairman M. Mahender Reddy received a request from Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to explore the potential of rescheduling the Group-II exam. As a result, the TSPSC reportedly stated that the exams will now take place in December of this year. Additionally, the revised dates for December will be announced later.
Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka, who met with the Group-II candidates at the Secretariat on July 19, said he would appeal on their behalf that the TSPSC investigate the possibility of holding the exam in December last week, as they requested.
The TSPSC issued a statement shortly after the meeting, stating that after considering the proximity of examination dates amongst various recruiting exams, the Commission resolved to reschedule the Group-II exams to be held on August 7 and 8 to December 2024.
Candidates who are scheduled to sit for the Group-II exam previously met with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and requested him to postpone the exam by at least a couple of months due to other competitive exams taking place around the same time.
Reports state that this is not the first time that the TGPSC Group II Exams 2024 have been postponed. It was earlier scheduled for August 29, 2023, and August 30, 2023, which got shifted to November 2, 2023, and November 3, 2023. After that again got scheduled for January 6, 2024 and January 7, 2024. Within a few days, it got postponed to August 7, 2024, and August 8, 2024.
