Two people from UP shot at by militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district


Two non-local people from Uttar Pradesh were shot at by militants in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Budgam district, reported PTI citing officials.

Sufiyan and Usman were injured after being shot at in the Mazhama area of Magam in the central Kashmir district, they said.

They were taken to a hospital and were stated to be in stable condition, the officials added. The whole area was cordoned off by the security forces to nab the attackers.

More details on the firing by militants is awaited.

Rising militant attacks in Kashmir:
In a recent attack in Kashmir, terrorists gunned down a doctor, a designer and five migrant workers after they attacked a construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in the Gagangir village of the Ganderbal district. They struck as the workers and other staff returned to their camp. The incident has raised serious concerns over the security of people in the valley.

The incident comes after at least four people, including two soldiers, were killed when militants ambushed an army vehicle in Kashmir recently. This incident followed the killing of a Bihar laborer in Shopian on October 18, and an earlier shooting where a laborer from Uttar Pradesh, Shubam Kumar, was injured in Tral, Pulwama district.(more to come)
