Ubisoft has announced that the Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ release has been postponed to March 20. After this news surfaced, Domino’s Pizza took a playful dig at Ubisoft over the delay and said, “Call us if you need help delivering on time.”
It didn’t end there though, Ubisoft had a comeback of its own. Ubisoft, while replying to this post from Domino’s Pizza, said, “Hey Domino’s Pizza pizza party on March 20th???? 👀”

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Release Delayed
Ubisoft, France’s largest video game developer, announced on Thursday that it has once again delayed the release of its highly anticipated title Assassin’s Creed Shadows, moving the launch from February 14 to March 20. This marks the second delay for the game, as the company had previously pushed the release back by three months to February.
According to Ubisoft, the extra month of development will allow the team to better incorporate player feedback gathered over the past few months, ensuring a more polished product and a stronger launch. The company also emphasised its commitment to working closely with the Assassin’s Creed community, whose response has become increasingly positive.
Ubisoft has faced challenges with delays and disappointing performances of some key titles, including Star Wars Outlaws, which failed to meet sales expectations when it launched in August. The company’s stock value halved in 2024. In light of these issues, Ubisoft has initiated a strategic review and brought in advisers to explore various options for transforming the company and maximising value for its stakeholders.
Ubisoft plans to implement substantial cost-cutting measures alongside a more selective investment strategy. The company expects to lower its fixed cost base by over 200 million euros ($205.90 million) by fiscal year 2025-26, compared to FY2022-23, on an annualised basis. For the third quarter, the company anticipates net bookings of approximately 300 million euros, which reflects weaker-than-expected holiday sales, particularly for Star Wars Outlaws, along with the decision to discontinue XDefiant.
