Veteran producer and screenwriter Salim Khan has gifted himself a brand new car on the occasion of Dhanteras.
He bought a white Mercedes-Benz GLS SUV that comes with a price tag starting at Rs 1.32 crore. A video of his new ride has surfaced online. It shows the writer and his family performing a special puja on the occasion.
In the short video shared on Instagram, a priest was seen performing some rituals, and a garland was placed on the new car. While it has been reported that Salim Khan has purchased the car, the writer and his sons were not present during the puja.

Talking about its features, the German luxury carmaker recently launched the updated 2024 GLS SUV in India with several exterior and interior enhancements. The first one worth noting is a redesigned front grille along with new LED headlights that boast a block pattern. Other than these, the new GLS 450 also has redesigned front and rear bumpers. The beast on wheels also boasts new gloss black inserts and slightly redesigned 21-inch alloy wheels.
For the 2024 model year, the company has also enhanced the interior of the car. The carmaker has enhanced the steering wheel, and it now comes equipped with haptic feedback-providing buttons. The 2024 GLS also features twin 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and a digital instrument gauge cluster.
Mercedes also provides the luxury SUV with the Rear Seat Comfort package, where passengers can adjust the front seat to increase space and electric sun blinds. In addition to that, two 11.6-inch entertainment screens and an additional tablet to control features in the car are available.
In terms of powertrain, the Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 comes with the petrol-powered variant. It comes equipped with a 6-cylinder engine and 3.0-liter which is capable of producing 381 bhp and 500 Nm of peak torque. Other features in the new SUV include the latest MBUX system, adjustable air suspension, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS features.
