A new study by MakeMyTrip’s corporate travel platform, myBiz, has revealed that women now make up nearly 16 percent of corporate air travellers in 2024.
This means that one in every six business flyers is a woman, highlighting a steady rise in female participation in corporate travel.
Women Leading in Education and Media Sectors
The study, based on flight bookings from nearly 3,000 corporates, each with over 200 employees and an annual travel spend exceeding Rs 1 crore, shows the increasing role of women in business travel.
Among industries, the education sector led the way, with 28 percent of corporate travellers being women. Media and entertainment followed with 25 percent, while consulting firms saw 22 percent female representation.
However, traditionally male-dominated industries like manufacturing, chemicals, electronics, energy, textiles, and pharmaceuticals had a lower share, with women making up only 10 percent of business travellers.
As per TOI, Raj Rishi Singh, CMO & CBO – Corporate, MakeMyTrip, said, “As one of the fastest-growing corporate travel platforms, myBiz provides unique insights into evolving business travel trends. With real-time data and integrated solutions, we help businesses make informed travel decisions.”
