Yamaha has launched the FZ-S Fi Hybrid at a price of Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom), offering new hybrid technology and a host of upgraded features.
Having said that, the bike now comes with an OBD2B-compliant engine, a Starter Motor Generator (SMG), and mild-hybrid tech inspired by Yamaha scooters.
Additionally, it boasts a 4.2-inch TFT display with smartphone integration.

The FZ-S Fi Hybrid is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivers 12.4 bhp and 13.3 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox and complies with stricter OBD2B emissions standards. Weighing 138kg, it is slightly heavier than the regular FZ-S V4 by around 1-2 kilograms.

What Is Hybrid Assist & How Does It Work?
The FZ-S Fi Hybrid features a Starter Motor Generator (SMG) and mild-hybrid technology. This system offers a silent start and automatically shuts down the engine in traffic, restarting with a quick clutch action. It also provides an acceleration boost for short durations through a small battery, improving fuel efficiency.

The most notable upgrade is the 4.2-inch colour TFT dashboard, which includes Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone integration. This feature brings turn-by-turn navigation via Google Maps, music control, geo-fencing, and the ability to find your bike’s last parking location, among other functionalities.
Yamaha has also made small tweaks for better comfort and usability, including optimised handlebar positioning, a repositioned horn switch, and updated switchgear that’s easier to operate with gloves. Plus, two new colour options are now available: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
