AIMIM Candidate Tahir Hussain Gets Custody Parole Till Feb 3 To Campaign In Delhi Polls

A three-judge bench of the Supreme Court granted former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councillor Tahir Hussain custody parole in all cases where he is yet to receive bail. This move allows him to campaign for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls as an All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) candidate.

Hussain’s custody parole will be effective from today, January 28, until February 3, subject to certain conditions. He will be permitted to leave jail (along with security) during the day and return each night.

The Court clarified that Hussain will be released for 12 hours every day as per the jail manual. However, his bail plea before the High Court will be decided on its own merits.
