It has been reported that the under-construction route will not just offer a seamless traffic-free route, but also will allow the public to connect with a crucial link upcoming Bangalore-Chennai Expressway (NE 7).

In a move to offer a seamless travel experience to the public and reduce traffic congestion in Bengaluru, the Tamil Nadu government is all set to kickstart some key sections of Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR). It will connect the city’s borders, making it easy for the public to travel. The deadline for the same has been set for March 2025.
It has been reported that the under-construction route will not just offer a seamless traffic-free route, but also will allow the public to connect with a crucial link upcoming Bangalore-Chennai Expressway (NE 7).
Overall Stretch and Estimated Cost
According to the details, the project will span in 280.836 km area (approx.). The report says that the government is expected to invest a total cost of Rs 17,000 crore. To note, it is an estimated cost, a concrete figure is not known yet.

The reports also suggested after completion of the project, the 288-kilometre-long STRR will make it use commercial vehicles to bypass easily, which will eventually cut off the traffic in the city.
Hoskote-TN border section
Talking about the new Hoskote-TN border section of STRR. It has been designed to offer comfortable yet seamless access to the public on the Bangalore-Chennai Expressway. It will work as the eastern end, which has been proposed 330 km Bangalore-Mangalore Expressway. This route is likely to become one of the key transport corridors, which will benefit travellers for smooth movment across states.
USPs
For smooth movement, the upcoming stretch will get six lanes, which will be an 11-metre-wide median. It will be similar to Bengaluru’s famous NICE Road. There will be 11 underpasses, making it more advanced for the smooth traffic flow.
