In a clip shared on Sony TV’s Instagram page, things heated up when Gaurav Khanna and Nikki Tamboli got into an argument over which dish to serve to Farah and the judges.

Television actor Gaurav Khanna, best known for his stint as Anuj Kapadia in the longest-running popular show, Anupamaa, has returned to the television world. After being off the screens for two months, the actor is currently busy shooting for the cooking reality show Celebrity Masterchef. The latest season, boasting several popular celebrities from the TV industry, premiered on Sony TV on January 27. Having said that, the show recently added a fun element to the show with a team challenge round. But it seems like it didn’t work out well for Gaurav Khanna and Nikki Tamboli.
In a clip shared on Sony TV’s Instagram page, the duo was facing a difficult time as they quarrelled throughout this challenge. Things heated up when the two argued over which dish to serve to Farah and the judges.
Nikki Tamboli said, “Mujhe lagta hai mujhe jaana chahiye” while the Anupamaa fame insisted that his dish should be tasted, leading Nikki to dig her heels in and exclaim, “I don’t want to take a risk”.
Nikki then taunted Gaurav, saying, “Tum copy hi karte raho mera, kyu dala mujhe iske sath. (You keep copying me, why did you team me with him?)” Post this, Farah then stepped in and told them to decide or else they would get eliminated from the immunity pin race.
Hearing this, Nikki sacrifices her dish and allows Gaurav to present his dish. At first, the judges ask whether his dish looks appealing, however, his dish turns out to be tasty and helps them stay in the race. After tasting the dish, the chefs hailed Gaurav’s skills, and Chef Vikas said, “Don’t judge the book by its cover.”
Chef Ranbir then asked how he convinced Nikki, and Gaurav replied, “I was just confident, sir. I have learnt that having self-confidence is very important. Aaju baju wale hase, roye, nach gaye, mujhe kuch farak nahi padta.”
It was this moment when Gaurav recalled his struggling days and shared, “I am just saying that I wouldn’t have even discussed it with my team member, irrespective of Nikki, because today I had tasted my dish, and I was sure about it.”
Chef Ranveer then asks Gaurav to appreciate Nikki’s sacrifice, and the actor adds, “Absolutely, sir, but today I was confident about my dish. I have always lived my life like this. I was in corporate, and I became an actor. Log sab haste the ki MBA kar ke actor bann raha hai. I didn’t even have a portfolio, but by God’s grace, it has been 18 years in this industry, and I have done 20 shows on TV. I am a go-getter, and if I have confidence, I won’t leave it.”
Gaurav Khanna stepped into the lights-camera-action industry with Siddhanth in 2005. Since then, he has carved a niche for himself and is now regarded as one of the most popular television personalities. He was most recently seen in Rajan Shahi’s Anupamaa, co-starring Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey.
Speaking about Celebrity MasterChef India season 9, the cooking reality show is being judged by chefs Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar, and filmmaker Farah Khan. In the culinary competition, Gaurav Khanna is competing with some of the well-known television personalities, including Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, Tejasswi Prakash, Rajiv Adatia, Usha Nadkarni, Archana Gautam, Nikki Tamboli, Faisal Shaikh, aka Mr Faisu, and Chandan Prabhakar.
